Artek Aalto Umbrella Stand 115

The Artek Aalto umbrella stand 115 was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1936. The elegant stand features a simple birch frame: the pillars are made of solid birch, while the triangular loops at the top and bottom are crafted of birch lamella. The loops have been bent by hand and only feature a single seam. The finishing touch comes from the brass pan, fitted inside the base, that will develop a beautiful patina over time and use. What’s more, the pan can be removed for easy emptying and cleaning.
